The years may fly by, but the journey of the heart always takes its own time. In 2022 I began to write my own music, and almost immediately an arrangement - chords, melody and structure for “Better Days” - came to me fully formed as I thought about the long and hard journey of infertility my wife and I had been going through. My good friend Yuforia helped to finish the arrangement and production. The song was meant as a comfort to my wife and to me - that the beautiful things of life would always serve as a balm against the pain of disappointment, and something better would always come, must always come. 4 years later in 2026 and we rejoice in the beautiful smiles of our two amazing boys, and grieve the loss of a child in between. This EP was a work to summarise the last few years as best I could into musical episodes. I hope you listen with an open heart and may you be blessed with many “Better Years” ahead. - Joshua Hoe
